It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Richard A. Sanford. He was born in Aberdeen in 1935 and passed away on Oct. 30, 2017, at the age of 81. Dick was a man with many adventures and talents. During his lifetime he served in the Navy, as a deputy sheriff , president of the Eagles and much more. He was skilled at crafting metal in all its forms and worked as a pipe fitter, gunsmith and metal artist.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Patrica Sanford, his daughter Val-rae Christensen, his daughter Lisa Sanford, two step-sons Will and Garth Smith and grandchildren August, Morgan and Greigh Christensen and Christine Eisel. He was preceded in death by his son Jeff.

He was loved by everyone he met and will be missed by all.
