Monica Reynvaan Davis was taken home to the Lord on Monday, May 8, 2017. She was born to Donald and Dean Reynvaan on Nov. 4, 1954.

Monica attended Wishkah Valley School and graduated as valedictorian in 1973. She went onto work in retail after high school, but pursued other interests as she volunteered more frequently in local campaigns and political lobbying. Monica became a paralegal for many years until leaving to become a full time grandma.

In 1986, she married John Henry Davis. He survives in the family home in Montesano. She was preceded in death by her parents and her younger brother, Jay. She is also survived by a daughter, Janelle (Charles) Corbett and her two grandchildren, Claire and Josh, her brother, Max Reynvaan, sister, Jan Reynvaan Weston and other relatives.

In addition to taking care of her family, Monica was a lifelong learner. She was an avid reader and remained up to date on current world events. Monica enjoyed learning something new every day and was quite knowledgeable on a variety of subjects.

There will be a memorial service with a reception following at First Baptist Church, 729 Eklund Street in Hoquiam on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at 1 p.m.

Arrangements are made by the Coleman Mortuary, 422 – 5th Street in Hoquiam, Wash.
