Mary Edith Stoken, 78 years of age, died on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen, Washington.

Mary Edith Stoken, 78 years of age, died on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen, Washington. She was born on March 18, 1940, to Donald and Lucille A. (Courneyer) Smith in Hoquiam, Washington.

She was raised and attended school in Hoquiam and was a graduate of Hoquiam High School, Class of 1958. Mary was an accomplished seamstress.

Mary Edith Smith met Gerald Alan Stoken and they were married on Feb. 16, 1962, in Hoquiam.

The couple resided in Hoquiam for several months prior to moving to the Humptulips area where they built their first five bedroom home. In 1987 they moved back into Hoquiam where she has since resided.

Mary was a longtime member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Hoquiam. She enjoyed helping others at their time of need. The family travels had taken them to Bend, Oregon and other Pacific Northwest areas.

She loved spending time with her family, friends, congregation and her cats, Biggie and Sheba. Mary enjoyed reading and gardening.

Mary attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s for 55 years. She loved sharing Bible truths with others. She died faithful to her God, Jehovah and had a wonderful hope for the future.

She is survived by her three children, Gail, Wayne and Pam; three grandchildren, Lyndsy, Alex and Chloe; her sister, Nancy Holter and numerous other relatives. Her husband, Gerald died on Feb. 15, 2014.

A graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m., Friday, March 1, 2019, at Sunset Memorial Park in Hoquiam.
