Mark Arthur Wright, 57, a longtime Grayland, Wash. area resident, died on Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017, at his home following an extended illness. He was born Dec. 11, 1959, in Seattle, Wash. to Frank R. and Judith (Hanshew) Wright. He was raised and attended school in Yakima, then Vashon Island, graduating from Vashon Island High School in 1977.

Mark Arthur Wright married Kristine Ann Mellinger on July 28, 1989, in SeaTac, Wash. The couple resided in Kent, before moving to Yakima in 1991 and then to Ravensdale in 1996. In 2004 they came to Grayland where they had since resided.

As a young man, Mark began working in his father’s Seattle lift parts shop. He then moved to Yakima where he worked as a glazier for his mother and step-father at Yakima Glass. When he returned to the Seattle area, he again worked for his dad at Liftparts Northwest before becoming a commercial glazier and joining Glaziers Local 188 in Seattle. He worked on numerous buildings, including the King County Public Library in downtown Seattle, a project he was very proud of. His illness forced him to retire in 2015, but he stayed active and good spirited. He enjoyed working on cars, mainly Subaru’s, and remodeling his family home. But, most of all, time with his family.

Mark is survived by his wife, Kristine A. Wright of Grayland; his daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn and Jason Major and two grandchildren of Grayland; his son, Griffin Frank Wright of Grayland; his mother and step-father, Judith and Dave David of Yakima; his brother, Wesley Wright of Snohomish; his sister, Toni Whitney of Bigfork, Montana and other relatives. His father, Frank Wright and his sister, Kelly Boksha, preceded him in death.

A celebration of his life is being planned for a later date.

Cremation arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary, 422 – 5th Street in Hoquiam, Wash.
