Leslie I. ‘Les’ Bodnar, 81, Cosmopolis resident and former general contractor in the Harbor, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen, Wash.

Leslie I. ‘Les’ Bodnar, 81, Cosmopolis resident and former general contractor in the Harbor, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen, Wash.

Les was born in Aberdeen to Andrew and Bessie (Widener) Badnar. He graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1954 and on May 7, 1955, married Viola Charlene Domin at the Aberdeen Baptist Church. She resides at the family home.

Les was a carpenter his whole life and worked as a general contractor for many years. He built many homes on the harbor and also helped build the Johnston Ridge Observatory at Mt. St. Helens. He worked with Telzlaft Roofing for many years.

Les was a member of the Aberdeen Eagles and the Cosmopolis Lions Club. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking.

Les is survived by his wife of 62 years, Charlene Bodnar of Cosmopolis, Wash. and a daughter Holly Bodnar of Centralia, Wash. He was preceded in death by brothers: Ray, Sonny, LeRoy and sisters, Gladys Ward and Hazel Fulbright.

A celebration potluck will be held on Nov. 18, from 1-5 p.m. at the Aberdeen Eagles. He will be inurned on his mother’s grave at Fern Hill Cemetery in Aberdeen, Wash.

Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen, Wash.
