Larry Dean Watters

If a guy was to be diagnosed with kidney cancer at 66 years old, and pass away four weeks later, it would’ve been Sept. 3, 2018.

He loved and was loved, by more than one woman (Judith Springer, married 1974), and is survived by his wife, Debi (Lynn). He is survived by his children, who were each his favorite (ha ha) — Justin, Sarah, Mandy, Charlotte, Dondra and Josh, and their spouses. He’d also have 15 grandchildren running around telling everyone how smart he is; as well as many very loved nieces and nephews. And Bart, of course.

Larry Watters spent his life working hard. First in the logging industry and then as a diesel mechanic for NC Caterpillar in Washington, Montana, Alaska and other states, too.

He was born in Shelton, raised in Matlock, and that’s where he’ll rest.

Larry made friends everywhere he went. All of them can tell a thousand funny stories. We’d love to hear them and invite all of you to come share in the joy, fun and adventure of his life on Sept. 23, at 11 a.m. at the Brady Grange Hall. It will be a potluck, because he loved free food, and a time of laughter and true celebration, just as he would’ve expected it to be. None of that sad stuff.

It should also be said that he was a Costco member until the very end.
