L. Jeannette (Ing) Anderson passed away on May 24, 2018, at the age of 103 at Pacific Care Center. Daughter of Wilbur (Bert) Ing and Dortha (Werts), Ing was born in Aberdeen, Wash., on April 14, 1915. Jeannette’s father was the head sawyer at the Bay City Mill in South Aberdeen from 1915 until 1950. Her early schooling was in Aberdeen. Jeannette moved with her mother and brother to Alberta, Canada in 1926 where she continued schooling and was a graduate of the Toronto Conservatory as a classical pianist, teaching music in Lethbridge for a brief time. Upon returning to Washington State in 1932, she lived in Longbranch, Wash. where she met her husband Stanley Anderson.

They were married in 1936 and their first home was in Pacific Beach. They had two children and moved many times over the next 14 years as Stanley worked with several different logging firms in Grays Harbor. In 1950 the family moved to Lake Quinault, where Stanley pioneered many logging roads into the virgin forests of the Quinault and Clearwater areas. After her children were raised, Jeannette took a job at the D.N.R. office in Amanda Park. They moved to Neilton when she retired in 1973. Stanley suffered a severe stroke in 1980. Jeannette provided 24/7 nursing care for her husband until she widowed in 1993. Jeannette continued living in their Neilton home until 2014 when she moved to Channel Point Village. In November 2015, she moved into Pacific Care in Hoquiam.

Jeannette was a dedicated mother, wife, sister and matriarch of the Anderson family. She loved her family and friends, enjoyed visiting with them frequently. Enjoyable events in her life included parties, dancing, trips to Reno, Las Vegas, Arizona, California, Hawaii and Pennsylvania to visit family and grandchildren.

Jeannette was preceded in death by her step-brother Charles Goodpaster and her brother William. She is survived by her son David K. Anderson (wife Sharon), a retired Navy Captain of Silverdale, Wash.; daughter Karen Creviston (husband Harry) of Lake Quinault; four grandchildren Donna (Anderson) Mayer (husband Rich) of Auburn, Brett Anderson (wife Kimberly) of Bellingham, Kari (Creviston) Davis (husband Dale) of Auburn, Ted Creviston (wife Cindy) of Hoquiam, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
