Juanita Ann Pearson, 85, former Gig Harbor resident and housewife, died Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Montesano Health & Rehab Center in Montesano, Wash.

Juanita Ann Pearson, 85, former Gig Harbor resident and housewife, died Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Montesano Health & Rehab Center in Montesano, Wash.

She was born on Dec. 10, 1932, in Port Townsend, Wash. to Chester and Ann (Drake) McIntyre. She grew up in Gig Harbor and graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1950. On April 25, 1951, Juanita married Elliott Pearson in Bremerton, Wash. He passed away on March 14, 2016, in Elma.

She was a housewife, Navy wife of 30 years, mom, sister and a daughter. Juanita in her life as a military wife moved from one side of the United States to the other always returning home to Washington. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels in Bremerton to later become the secretary of the chuck Wagon there. She liked to sew and made all the clown costumes for her husband, who was a shiner clown for many years.

Juanita is survived by two sons: Mikel (Bev) Pearson of Quilcene, Wash. and Lloyd Pearson of Ocean Shores, Wash.; a daughter Marcella (Leo) Cormier of Elma; a brother Eugene (Diane) McIntyre of Ontario, Ore. and a sister Lotus Leddy of Kansas; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother Loyal McIntyre.

There will be a graveside service for Juanita on Friday, April 6, 2018, at 1 p.m. in the Masonic Cemetery, Elma, Wash.
