Longtime Montesano resident Joan Marie Rasanen passed away Friday, Jan. 12, 2018. She was 86. Joan was born on Dec. 30, 1931, to John and Marie (Sarazan) Brewer on 3 Mile Island in PA. The family later moved to Grayland, Wash. where Joan graduated from Ocosta High School.

On Sept. 7, 1979, Joan married Roy William Rasanen at the Satsop United Methodist Church.

Joan enjoyed bowling, golf and travel. She was also active in the YMCA Bridge Club, Oakridge Ladies Golf Club, and the Satsop United Methodist Church.

Joan is survived by her husband Roy Rasanen; sons Chris Lillegard and Harv Lillegard; daughter Kim Helison; step-sons Robert Rasanen and Richard Rasanen; and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018, at the Satsop United Methodist Church, 445 Ash Rd, Satsop. Memorials in Joan’s name may be made to the Satsop United Methodist Church.
