Janet (Surridge) O’Brien was greeted by the angels and saints on April 10, 2018, and was once again embraced by her beloved husband, Victor O’Brien. We will deeply miss her selfless heart, her sage advice, and her love and devotion to family and friends. An avid quilter, Janet’s handiwork and love wraps around so many, from her adored nieces and nephews to hospitalized children to wounded warriors.

Janet attended Queen Anne High School where she met the love of her life. She cared for a generation of kids as secretary of St. Anne School before moving into insurance and then arena sports. She was the quiet strength of the Queen Anne Soccer Club, St. Anne’s Bingo and countless other outreaches. She deeply loved her siblings, Barbara Raney, Donna Petelle and Russ Surridge and enjoyed many Sundays, Pine Lake weekends and annual trips to Point No Point with them and their families. After retiring, Jan and Vic moved to Pacific Beach where she enjoyed quilting with her friends, catching up on the local news, and watching the gorgeous waves and sunsets.

A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, April 19, at 7 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, April 20, at 11 a.m., both at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 732 18th Ave E, Seattle, 98112.

If Janet made you a quilt, the family asks that you bring it to the funeral to display as a sign of Janet’s legacy of love.

Remembrances may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
