Jack passed away at home on April 28, 2017, early in the morning with his wife, Debra, of 25 years and his daughter, Twyla, at his side, after a short courageous battle with cancer. One of nine children, he was born in Larned, Kan., to Claude and Ruth (Seidensticker) Gordon on Jan. 31, 1941.

Jack attended elementary school in Kansas. The family moved to Washington in 1952, where he finished his education in Prosser and Zillah.

He spent much of his life working in numerous shake mills in Montana, Idaho, and Washington. He had a dream of having his own mill. He also worked in Alaska on the pipeline for several years, which allowed him to eventually buy his own shake mill in Kooskia, Idaho where he lived for a good part of his life. He loved living there, hunting and fishing. He eventually returned to Aberdeen for work after the sale of his mill where he worked in mills and the forest cutting logs for other shake mills. His last position was working at the Riverbend Mobile Home Park. He enjoyed taking care of the grounds, keeping the grass and flowers looking beautiful. He loved living there, along the Hoquiam River. You could find him sitting at his window in the early mornings, where he would have his morning cup of coffee with a cigarette watching the tide coming in and out.

Jack was an avid fisherman, he loved taking his boat out to fish. He also enjoyed hunting. Daddy loved to play his guitar. He played a lot. He enjoyed being surrounded by family listening to him play and his wife, Debra singing along with him.

Jack was part of a large family. He was preceded in death by his parents Claude and Ruth Gordon; sister Rutheleene Anderson and brother Kent Gordon. He is survived by his wife Debra of the family home; brothers Steve, Ron and Jr. Gordon; sisters Claudia Kandle, June Mendoza and Carol (Greg) Boutaine; his children Twyla, Gaylon, Guyla, Dixie, Jacky, Sandra, Mike and step-daughter Vickie; grandchildren Tiffany, Jeremiah, Jennika, Miles, Bobby, Scott, Paige, Austin, DJ and Nick; great-grandchildren Nellie, Daisy, Gracie, Blue (Cooper) Lila and La Nyjah. Also numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Jack was loved by many.

Memorial services will be held at the Aberdeen Elks Club, 1712 S Boone St, Aberdeen, WA 98520, (360) 532-2211; on Sunday, May 21, 2017, at 1 p.m.

We will love him always. Rest in peace, Daddy.
