Jack Charles Raub, 86 years of age and a resident of the Humptulips, Wash. area, died on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen, Wash.

Jack Charles Raub, 86 years of age and a resident of the Humptulips, Wash. area, died on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen, Wash. He was born on May 23, 1931, in Hoquiam, Wash. to Jack Kenneth and Mary Marie (Nissley) Raub, and was an enrolled member of the Makah Tribe.

He was raised and attended school in Hoquiam and graduated from Hoquiam High School in 1949. While in school he was on the football and track teams.

Jack served with the U.S. Navy and was a Korean War veteran.

He had worked at Evans Plywood and various shake mills in the harbor area. He was a member and active in the construction, operation and maintenance of the Copalis Crossing Assembly of God Church, he also attended the Seventh-day Adventist of Hoquiam and the Humptulips Valley Church.

His travels had taken him to various parts of the United States and Canada.

Jack Charles Raub is survived by a son, Jack L. Raub of Humptulips; a daughter, Kimberly Raub DuFrey (Demi Solorio) of Morro Bay, Calif.; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; a sister, Pat Brakus of the Wishkah Valley and other relatives. He was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Raub and Douglas’ wife Linda Graves

A memory service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 26, 2017, at the Copalis Crossing Assembly of God Church.

Private inurnment is to be in the Humptulips Cemetery.

Arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.
