J. John Poisel, 85, passed away on April 19, 2018, at Good Samaritan Health Care Center surrounded by his family.

J. John Poisel, 85, passed away on April 19, 2018, at Good Samaritan Health Care Center surrounded by his family. John was born on March 25, 1933, in Wapato, Wash., in a tent the son of John and Nina (Byers) Poisel. John attended school in Wapato and graduated from Wapato High School. He met the love of his life, Evelyn Seward, at the Browns Town Assembly of God in 1952 and were married shortly after in 1953. They have been reunited in Heaven and are celebrating 65 years of marriage on April 20, 2018. He worked several jobs during his life, but logging was always his passion.

John was raised at the end of Bench Road by wonderful parents who taught him the value of hard work and great fun on a farm. He knew when it was time to work and when it was time to play. He was an avid pheasant hunter and enjoyed camping when he could. The biggest thing for John was spending time with family, whether they were camping or just spending time together. A highlight of his life was going moose hunting in Canada with his sons and brother.

John and Evelyn’s children are, Joe (Nancy) Poisel, Debra (Larry) Flohr, Ron (Mert) Poisel, Shirlene (Joey) Reynolds, and Randy (Mollie) Poisel, he also has 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, three sisters and two brothers. He is preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn, of 65 years, parents, sister, Velma, brother, Charlie, sons, Joe and Timmy, daughter, Tammy, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
