Frankie Albert Pope Sr., 66 years of age and lifetime Harborite, died on Monday, Feb. 12, 2018, at Providence Centralia Hospital in Centralia, Wash. He was born on Aug. 26, 1951, in Aberdeen, Wash. to Robert and Rose (Chenois) Pope.

He was raised and attended school in Taholah and graduated from the North Coast High School in Moclips, Wash. While attending school he enjoyed playing basketball and fishing.

Frankie Pope was married to Gertrude Krise on Feb. 14, 1973, in Aberdeen and they made their home in Taholah. She died on Nov. 3, 1994.

He worked for the Quinault Indian Nation in their forestry area, worked in construction, a firefighter, worked at the casino, was a custodian at the Taholah Merchantial and the Tribal Offices. He also was a fisherman.

Frankie was a member of the 1910 Shaker Church of Taholah. His travels had taken him to all parts of the West Coast.

Frankie Albert Pope Sr. is survived by: his sons, Frankie Albert Pope Jr. and Robert Carl Pope Sr., both of Ocean Shores; his daughter, Josephine Rose Pope of Ocean Shores; his brother, Clarence “Butch” Pope of Taholah; his sisters, Laura Mae Eselin and Pamela Sue Wood both of Taholah; his grandchildren, Tres Michael Pope, Myarya Pope, Cora Pope, Marcus Pope, Desmond Pope, Raelle Pope and Robert Pope Jr. his great-grandchildren, Haiden Pope and Hallie Pope and other relatives.

A candlelight service will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018, at the Taholah Community Center and a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2018, at the Taholah Community Center in Tahoklah, Wash.

Concluding service and interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park in Hoquiam.
