Francine Lee Peters, born Feb. 6, 1944, to Francis (Frank) Peters and Virginia (Bjornson) Peters, died Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, in Tacoma Wash., with her dear friend, Betty Trutt, and her “Sis”, Marilyn Peters, by her side.

Fran was born in Aberdeen, Wash., and grew up on the west end. She went to Weatherwax High School until moving to Hoquiam where she graduated with the class of “62”. Because of her fun sense of humor and quick wit, she had many friends and some lifelong. It was the most endearing memory enjoyed by her family.

Fran belonged to a bowling league in Hoquiam until moving to Tacoma Wash. where she found employment and lived the rest of her life. Her final job, and one she loved, was with L.E.S.A. as a E-911 operator with the Pierce County call center as operator 85, where she worked for 25 years. She received a citation for her assistance in apprehending a wanted criminal through her diligence. Fran was a member of the Teamsters Local Union 461 of Tacoma.

Her parents and beloved brother, Steven “Buzz,” preceded her in death.

Fran leaves behind a family she was so proud of and adored, as we did her. She never married, but our family was her family. Fran is survived by her sister-in-law, Marilyn Peters, (Sis), of Aberdeen; nephews, Jon Scott Peters and his son Emmett of Soldotna, Alaska, Kevin Alan Peters and his sons Steven and Austin and daughter, Abby of Olympia and all of the Goodenough family.

At her request, there will be no service. She wanted everyone to keep the memories they had of her as she was.

Donations may be made in her memory to the Steven “Buzz” Peters Scholarship Fund at the I.L.W.U. Federal Credit Union, 3105 John Stevens Way, Hoquiam, Wash. 98550.
