Esther Evans McArdle was born on Sept. 6, 1912, and passed away on April 4, 2018, at the age of 105 at Alpine Convalescent Center in Shelton Wash.

She was the daughter of Humptulips Pioneers, Charles and Hilda Evans. Mrs. McArdle attended grade school in Humptulips and graduated from Hoquiam High School. After graduating from WWU in 1932, she taught in McCleary and Tumwater retiring in 1963.

Esther married Van McArdle in 1942. After Mr. McArdle retired from the Real Estate business in 1989, they moved to Santa Barbara, Calif., in 1963. Mr. McArdle died in 1989. Esther returned to Washington State in 1990 and moved to Panorama City.

She volunteered in many activities at Panorama. In January 2016 Esther moved to Alpine Way until her death on April 4, 2018.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by brothers Delbert, Homer, and Dale Evans, also a niece, Donna Evans Peterson.

She is survived by nephews; Richard Evans and wife Sharen, Denny Evans and wife Joyce, and three grandchildren, Marcia McMahan, Angela Jan, and Leon Staszak.

A private family service will be held in Raymond, Wash. at a later date.
