Earl E. Lonborg

Earl E. Lonborg, 89, a longtime Elma, Wash. resident, passed away peacefully on Nov. 9, 2017, at the Roo Lan Care Facility in Lacey, Wash.

Earl E. Lonborg, 89, a longtime Elma, Wash. resident, passed away peacefully on Nov. 9, 2017, at the Roo Lan Care Facility in Lacey, Wash. He was born on March 15, 1928, in Kimbleton, Iowa to Neils and Agnes Lonborg.

He enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the age of 17 and served honorably in the Pacific Theater during World War II. After the war he married Irene Phyllis Goodwin on June 1, 1947. They were married for 53 years. Earl loved the out of doors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed working with his hands and was known for his ability to fix anything.

Survivors include his four children, Randy, Robbie, Candace Palmer, and Phillip, as well as nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, beloved spouse, seven sisters and two brothers.

A private family military ceremony is planned.
