Donald L. Johnson, 76, passed away on Feb. 4, 2018, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital.

Donald L. Johnson, 76, passed away on Feb. 4, 2018, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital. He was born in Elma, Wash. on July 19, 1941, to Leonard and Ruth (Crawford) Johnson.

He married the love of his life Barbara on Sept. 9, 1972. He is also survived by his mother and a sister, Dorothy Henifin both of Tacoma and step-daughter Cindy Keen of Aberdeen. His father and step-son Joe Keen died before him.

He graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1960. He worked at several plywood mills and Rayonier Pulp Mill.

He loved hot rods, Corvettes and driving fast. His lifetime dream was to be a commercial fisherman, which he did for over 45 years with his wife by his side. After retiring, he and his wife “Buckwheat” enjoyed cruising Ocean Shores counting deer. Their record was 230 in 3 hours. He had many special people in his life including friends, cousins, fishermen and family.

A celebration of life will be held March 31, at Lions Club Park in Cosmopolis at 1 p.m.
