On Dec. 30, 2018, Diane R. Snell, age 69, passed away at her home in Aberdeen after a hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer.

Diane was born in Aberdeen, Wash., on June 1, 1949, to Frank and Donna Thomlinson. She grew up in west Hoquiam and graduated from Hoquiam High School in 1967. She attended Yakima Valley Community College and Central Washington University. She married high school sweetheart John Curry in 1971. They were later divorced. They spent the majority of their marriage in Grays Harbor, where they raised three children, Katy, Adam and Molly.

In 1998, Diane married Jeff Snell, together making their home in Aberdeen. Diane spent a good part of her career in the banking industry. In the early 1990s Diane started with the Hoquiam School District, where she held several different roles. In 2005, she took the position of Business Manager for Cosmopolis School District. She retired in 2015.

Diane was full of life, always having a positive attitude and never taking a day for granted. Her recent battle with cancer was a testament to her positive outlook and vibrant personality as she took every opportunity to enjoy the joys of day to day life. Diane had a deep love for the Lord. Her faith was always present and provided great strength and comfort throughout her life.

She had a gorgeous smile that put others at ease and was never happier than in the presence of friends and family. While Jeff was alive, they traveled at length, attended Husky football games, and loved spending time with their grandkids. After retirement, Diane traveled to see her children, attended church with her family and volunteered with the Aberdeen Bloom team.

She had an amazing circle of friends, many life-long, with which she spent time traveling, visiting and laughing. More than anything, Diane was a wonderful grandma. Her true joy and daily purpose was loving her grandkids, Camryn and Nolan Cook, and Fritz, Betsy, Duke, and Ben Bold.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Snell; mother, Donna Strom; father, Frank Thomlinson.

She is survived by her daughter, Katy Curry; son, Adam Curry (Sharon); daughter, Molly Bold (Ryan); step-daughter, Tina Cook (Derek); step-son, Jeff Snell; sister, Molly Sattler; brother, Mark Thomlinson and brother, Jeff Thomlinson. Diane leaves behind six grandchildren; Fritz, Betsy, Duke, and Ben Bold, and Camryn and Nolan Cook.
