Christine L. Matthews

Christine Lee Matthews, age 66, a resident of Hoquiam, died on June 21, 2018, at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle. She was born in Aberdeen, Wash. on Dec. 18, 1951, to Harold Leonard and Geraldine May (Bland) DeWees.

Christine was devoted to her family and loved going fishing and camping with them. She was an excellent baker and enjoyed canning and gardening. She also liked to spend some time at the local casinos.

Since she was a child, she had been a member of the First Baptist Church of Hoquiam.

Surviving relatives include her husband, Bob, of the family home in Hoquiam; a daughter, Michelle Lee McDougall and a son, Michael Dale McDougall; a step-son, Thomas Michael Matthews and a step-daughter, Alaina Maria Delanoy; a brother, Perry DeWees; four grandchildren, Katherine, Kenny Jr., Zachery and Emma; and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2018, at the First Baptist Church of Hoquiam, 729 Eklund Avenue, Hoquiam, Washington 98550.

A private urn committal service was held at Sunset Memorial Park.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church of Hoquiam.

Cremation arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam, Wash.
