Carl was born on Aug. 2, 1922, in El Dorado, Kan., to Fred George Warbington and Ida Gertrude (Chamberlain) Warbington. When he was 6 months old, the family moved to Copalis Crossing, Wash., where he grew up with his brother, Lee (deceased) and sisters, Helen of Portland, Ore., and Mary Fleming (deceased). Carl married Amelia “Peggy” Mae Harlan in 1942.

Carl was drafted in the U.S. Army where he served during World War II as a Sergeant at Fort Lewis, Wash. and Luzon, Philippines, separating in September 1945.

Carl worked with at the Rayonier Paper Mill in Grays Harbor as a pipe fitter for 32 years.

Carl and Peggy were married for 73 years until her passing last year in February 2016. They lived most of their years in their countryside home near Copalis Crossing, Wash. where he enjoyed gardening, woodcutting and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Many of the early years of his retirement were spent “snow birding” with their camper in Arizona. He was a member of the Hoquiam Elks Lodge #1082, a charter member of their Roamin’ Elks, a member of the Henry L. Carl will always be very loved and will be missed by his surviving family, yet we are happy that he will be at peace together with his parents, wife and son Eddie.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that everyone take the time to do something special with your own family, make a memory. Our time here is short.
