Longtime Grays Harbor resident Brenda Lee Conway passed away peacefully in the late hours of Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2017. She was 54. On Aug. 29, 1963, Brenda was born into the world to John Robert and Helene Joyce (Bridges) Conway in Hillsboro, Ore. At the age of 7, the family moved to Aberdeen. She graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1981. For fifteen years, Brenda worked at K-Mart in Aberdeen until they closed. After that, she worked for Grays Harbor Health and Rehabilitation Center for sixteen years. Brenda was a caring individual who started babysitting her nieces, nephews, and family friends’ children at the age of 13. She treated them all as if they were her own and gave each of them a special place in her heart. She and her niece Corrie Pratt were very close. She thought of her as her own daughter and of Corrie’s children (Triel and Luen) as her grandchildren. Brenda was dedicated to her job, work friends, and the residents at Grays Harbor Health and Rehabilitation Center. She did everything she could to make each person feel cared for and respected. She was an ear when you needed help, and an advocate for those who couldn’t stand up for themselves.

The family would like to thank Dr. Erickson, Dr. Sui, hospice, and the team at Grays Harbor Health and Rehabilitation Center for doing such an amazing job. Brenda greatly appreciated how kind, thoughtful, and compassionate they all had been to her through her journey.

“There is nothing more beautiful than someone who goes out of their way to make life beautiful for others.” – Mandy Hale

She is preceded in death by her brother Robert Lorne Conway, Wesly Dean Conway and parents John and Helene.

Brenda will be deeply missed by all who had the fortune of knowing her. A private immediate family service will take place at a later date due to weather. Brenda requested that memorials be made to Relay for life or P.A.W.S.
