Ben Hursh, a longtime resident of Copalis Beach, Wash. passed away Thursday morning, Jan. 11, 2018, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen.

Ben Hursh, a longtime resident of Copalis Beach, Wash. passed away Thursday morning, Jan. 11, 2018, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen. Janette, his wife of 41 years was at his side at the time of his death.

Ben was born on Dec. 11, 1930, in Hayward, Calif. and lived throughout the San Francisco Bay Area for many years.

In 1950 he was stationed at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska while it was still a territory. After his discharge from the service he returned to the Bay Area. He married, started raising a family and began working at the phone company where he remained for 29 years.

In 1977 Ben married Janette Favro, originally from Seattle. After Ben retired from the phone company in 1984, he and Janette moved to a cabin at Copalis Beach that has been owned by her family for decades.

Ben’s primary focus in life had always been a spiritual one. He touched many lives with his honesty, wisdom and loving heart. He will be greatly missed.

Burial will be in the White Eagle Memorial Preserve near Goldendale, Wash.

Arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary, 422 – 5th Street in Hoquiam, Wash.
