*REMEMBERING AND CELEBRATING OUR LOVING SONG BIRD OF LIFE BARBARA PLATA*

Our beautiful loving “Song Bird of Life” has ascended, sailing with the angels to the next world. Barbara is missed every moment by her family and friends. She is now their guardian angel with exquisite wings of life, like the birds she loved to watch and revered angels including symbolic ones she collected and gifted. With everyone she met she touched their hearts and souls with happiness, joy, kindness and a beaming smile. The embodiment of her spirit and soul lives on in all whom she encountered and those who shared in her joy. Her song and laughter also remain in the hearts and minds of everyone she touched.

During her life she was a wonderful loving wife and mother. She leaves behind her spouse Enrique and children Vickie, Gloria, Patty, Richard and Becky, and grandchildren Starla, Koryn and Cole. For 69 endearing years of marriage, Barbara and husband Enrique have been devoted loving and lifetime partners. Her parents Juan-Miguel and Elfonsa’s love birthed her siblings Mike, Felix, Juan, Maria, Rita, Clara and Bertha.

Barbara gave of herself in all she did. She was a devoted, extraordinarily loving mother and a special friend. With her strong belief in God she was a dedicated member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Westport, Washington. During her rewarding lifetime she bestowed her gifts of love, kindness and fellowship. In her long career of working for the Seattle Public School District, she showed her unfaltering love for small children and in return they treasured and loved her.

Her good luck in continuously winning at functions and church bazaars was humorously well known. Luck’s fortune continued to bless her in many ways including cooking tasty foods, and gifted her with bilingual abilities and love of her dual cultures and pride in her Hispanic roots. The unfolding petals emerging into colorful blossoms represent Barbara’s joy in creating life by gardening and growing vibrantly colored flowers.

Barbara hailed from deep in the heart of Texas, one of her many favorite songs to sing. Her path later moved forward and West to the scenic Seattle area during her working years. And later, to the beautiful ocean shores, wildlife sounds and singing birds she loved in Westport, Washington where she lived the remainder of her fulfilling life.

All have had their hearts and souls touched with happiness, joy and kindness by Barbara. She cherished each day with a great outlook on life. She is celebrated and remembered in the lives, minds and hearts of all who met and loved her. (1930 to 2018).
