Allen Glenn Wheeler, 38, Aberdeen resident and software design engineer, died Saturday, June 9, 2018, in Aberdeen, Wash.

Allen was born on July 29, 1979, in Stockton, Calif. to Michael J. and Nanette M. (Laidet) Wheeler. He lived in California until age nine when the family moved to Pennsylvania for a couple of years and then to Haverhill, Mass. He graduated from Haverhill High School in 1997.

Allen joined the U.S. Army in March 2001. He was a paratrooper, stationed in Kuwait and later Iraq, working with field artillery and Fire Finder Radar Operations. He was Honorably Discharged in January 2005 with the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Army Service Ribbon.

He then went to the New England Institute of Art for two years and moved to Valencia, Calif. where he went to work for Troll Systems Corp as a senior systems designer for the next 10 years. He moved to Aberdeen two years ago and started his own computer software company last year, Defcast Corp.

Allen loved to play his guitar and was a member in the bands, Eulogy XL and Red Skeleton.

Allen is survived by his parents: Michael and Nanette Wheeler of Haverhill, Mass; brothers: Robert Wheeler of Missouri. Sean Wheeler of Calif., Jeff Wheeler and Mark Wheeler, and his significant other, Kristi Cosgrove both of Haverhill, Mass; three sisters: Jennifer and husband Wesley (Deano) Newbury Jr. of Aberdeen, Kiersten Wheeler of Hoquiam, Wash. and Chantel Wheeler Gunn of Missouri. Allen also leaves behind seven nieces and nephews as well as his fiancé Cassie Pauley and many beloved friends from both his private life and time in the Army.

There will be a celebration of his life in July.
