Alessio Albert ‘Les’ Belloni, 92, longtime resident of Elma, Wash. and former Log Scaler for the Grays Harbor Log Scaling Bureau , died Wednesday afternoon, March 22, 2017, in an Automobile accident in McCleary, Wash.

Alessio Albert ‘Les’ Belloni, 92, longtime resident of Elma, Wash., and former Log Scaler for the Grays Harbor Log Scaling Bureau , died Wednesday afternoon, March 22, 2017, in an automobile accident in McCleary, Wash.

Les was born in Greensboro, Penn. on Oct. 3, 1924, to Teitro and Emelia (Schiaretta) Belloni.

He was a log scaler in the timber mills of Northern California for most of his life. In 1980, he moved to Elma and worked for the Bureau for 10 years, retiring in 1990.

He loved gardening and always had an overabundance of vegetables of which he shared with the local food banks.

He is survived by his sister, Angelina Riley of Long Island, N.Y., and step-grandchildren: Thomas Lee Givins of West Jefferson, N.C. and Bradley Duane Nott of Oxnard, Calif.

There will be a graveside service for Les on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at 11 a.m. in The Masonic Cemetery, Elma Wash. next to his wife Irene.

Arrangements are entrusted to Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen, Wash.
