Tickets are on sale for The Daily World Citizen of the Year Banquet on Thursday, May 17, at the Aberdeen Elks Club.

The banquet will honor Citizen of the Year Margaret Carthum, Police Officer of the Year Sgt. Joe Strong and Firefighter of the Year Capt. Steve Davis.

Carthum is a longtime educator and a volunteer with many community organizations. Strong is a member of the Hoquiam Police Department and the Grays Harbor Drug Task Force and Davis is a member of the Cosmopolis Fire Department.

A no-host social hour starts at 6 p.m. Dinner seating begins at 6:30.

Tickets are $30 and on sale at The Daily World office, 315 S. Michigan St.

Dinner choices include Caesar salad with choice of entree (either baron of beef or salmon) potatoes, vegetables, dessert and coffee.
