Police arrest and use taser on alleged Safeway shoplifter

Aberdeen Police officers arrested a man near the homeless camp along the Chehalis River Tuesday for allegedly shoplifting at Safeway earlier in the day. According to one officer, the man was wanted for multiple warrants. There were more than five police cars that responded at the homeless camps.

As the suspect was taken away in handcuffs, he appeared to be bleeding significantly from his face. One woman at the scene said an officer used a taser on him, causing him to fall into the mud and hit his head which led to the bleeding.

Another officer confirmed that a taser was used during the arrest, and said the man continued to run away after he was instructed to stop.
