Man arrested on suspicion of burglarizing Ocean Shores senior center

Suspect allegedly stole an unspecified amount of cash in nighttime burglary

A 38-year-old man who resides just outside of Ocean Shores has been arrested for allegedly burglarizing the North Beach Senior Center on May 2.

Sgt. David McManus said cash was stolen from the building overnight. Witnesses pointed to the possible suspect who, when interviewed by Ocean Shores Police officers, gave “inconsistent accounts of his whereabouts the previous night.” When officers questioned the man later in the day, they were directed by witnesses to a shed where the man had been seen just a few minutes before. Officers checked the shed and located a bag which contained cash in almost the exact amount taken from the senior center and other items that linked the bag to the suspect.

The suspect was arrested and booked at the Grays Harbor County Jail on suspicion of second-degree burglary. After the reports are completed, the Prosecutor’s Office will make a charging decision.
