KNKX brings reporting project to Aberdeen

KNKX, the Seattle-based station that broadcasts National Public Radio programming to Grays Harbor and north Pacific County, will be in Aberdeen Nov. 28 and 29 for two events and to broadcast the local portion of the afternoon “All Things Considered” show.

It’s part of year-long reporting project taking the station directly to some of the communities it serves. It has already held similar events in Port Angeles, Centralia/Chehalis and Bellingham.

On Wednesday, Nov. 28, the station hosts a “pie social” from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Rotary Log Pavilion in Aberdeen with complimentary pie, coffee and tea, and music from the Grays Harbor College Jazz Band.

The next day, “All Things Considered” will be broadcast live, hosted by Ed Ronco from 3-6 p.m. at the Timberland Aberdeen Library.

The station says the visits are intended to highlight local issues and present stories that reflect what makes the community unique. Listeners are invited to both events, which are free and open to the public:
