Hoquiam Pushrods River Run car show Saturday on Levee Street

Muscle cars, customs and classics all on display

Several blocks of Levee Street west of 9th Street in Hoquiam were closed off Saturday for the Hoquiam Pushrods annual River Run car show.

The street was lined on both sides with classic, custom and muscle cars, and the parking lot across from the 8th Street Ale House was jammed full of cars and trucks, all brightly painted, most with the hoods up and looking showroom ready. Along with the cars were food and merchandise vendors, a 50-50 raffle and many prizes handed out.

The event was scheduled to go to 3 p.m. Awards will be given out at the end of the show, including the Best in Show main prize, which went to a 1940 Mercury convertible at last year’s River Run show.

The Pushrods have been around since 1953, and this year’s show was dedicated to the club’s most senior member – who joined that first year – Charlie Watson.
