Hoquiam Police Services Officer Ben Eaton graduates academy

Will finish his training at the city jail before being assigned to a squad

Police Services Officer Ben Eaton recently graduated the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission’s Corrections Officer Academy.

Officer Eaton is an Army veteran and just completed his service before joining the Hoquiam Police Department in March, according to Hoquiam Police Chief Jeff Myers. He spent a full month at the Corrections Officer Academy in Burien before graduating Friday.

Officer Eaton is a graduate of Hoquiam High School and currently resides in the area with his wife and children. Officer Eaton’s father pinned his son’s badge at the graduation ceremony.

Officer Eaton will be completing the last of his training phase at the Hoquiam City Jail before being assigned to Sgt. Dayton’s squad. He will be officially sworn in at the City Council meeting on June 12.
