“Harbor Strong” coalition hosts town hall focused on youth drug usage in Aberdeen

A new local health coalition is hosting a town hall meeting next week that will focus on reducing underage drug use.

“Harbor Strong” is a coalition with the goal of understanding the factors that contribute to local youth drug use and working with the community to make a significant change, according to a press release from Grays Harbor Public Health and Social Services.

The town hall meeting will share information and statistics about opioid, marijuana, and alcohol abuse among middle and high school-aged youth in Aberdeen. The meeting is Wednesday, Sept. 26, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Harbor City Church in Aberdeen.

The coalition is comprised of a variety of public health and education specialists, as well as representatives from law enforcement and other areas.
