High wind warning for Twin Harbors all day Saturday

Gusts could reach 60 mph on Grays Harbor and even higher farther south

The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning for the Twin Harbors for nearly all of Saturday, predicting sustained southerly winds of 25 to 45 mph and gusts along the coast of near 75 mph in Pacific County and 60 mph for Grays Harbor. The storm is also expected to bring heavy rain.

Areas of Grays Harbor expected to see the most impact include Westport, Ocean Shores, Hoquiam, Aberdeen, Pacific Beach & Taholah, said the Seattle office of the National Weather Service.

Winds were expected to begin increasing late Friday night through Saturday morning. For Grays Harbor, the wind warning is in effect from 3 a.m. Saturday through 11 p.m. All areas of the county will experience windy conditions on Saturday. Sunday is also forecast to be very breezy throughout the region.

The National Weather Service in Portland has purview over Pacific County and the wind warning there is in effect from 4 a.m. Saturday until 8 that evening. Winds are expected to increase around day break with the strongest expected at mid-day and through the afternoon. The winds may be strong enough to damage trees and cause power interruptions.
