Founder of Truth in Textbooks to speak at annual Lincoln Lasagna Luncheon

Event hosted by Grays Harbor Republican party Feb. 17

Retired Air Force officer and fighter pilot Lt. Col. Roy White will speak at the annual Grays Harbor Republican Party Lincoln Lasagna Luncheon at the Rotary Log Pavilion in Aberdeen Feb. 17.

In 2013, White founded Truth in Textbooks, a group that reviews social studies textbooks for accuracy and truthfulness. According to Grays Harbor Republicans, “Truth in Textbooks has trained nearly 200 individuals who have joined the effort to replace the political correct history found in our children’s textbooks with history that accurately portrays the Judeo-Christian values and American exceptionalism that has made America what it is while pointing out the contributions western civilizations have made to the improvement of our world today.”

The theme for this year’s luncheon is Truth in Education. Other featured speakers are state Reps. J.T. Wilcox (R-Roy), Jim Walsh (R-Aberdeen), legislative candidate Jim McEntire (R-Sequim) and County Auditor candidate Joe MacLean of Elma. Event activities include an 80-ticket limited raffle for a laptop valued at $799, a Dessert Dash and a “Buy your Local Politician” auction. The laptop raffle tickets will only be available at the door and you must be present to win.

Event tickets are available online at ghgop.org or by mail with a check or money order to Grays Harbor Republican Party, PO Box 2252, Aberdeen WA 98520 before Feb. 14. Pre-sale tickets are $50 for a single, $85 for a couple and $300 for a table. Tickets at the door $60 for a single and $100 for a couple.

The Rotary Log Pavilion is located at 1401 Sargent Blvd. in Aberdeen near the Tractor Supply Store. The event is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
