Fire damages house on West First Street

A fire caused significant damage to a home in Aberdeen early Thursday morning.

At 3:48 a.m., the Aberdeen Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 905 W. First St. in Aberdeen.

Upon arrival, units found heavy fire on the exterior wall on the back side of the building. A second alarm was quickly called for due to the extent of the fire.

It took crews approximately one hour to bring the fire under control. It caused an estimated $50,000 worth of damage to the structure and contents. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

There were no injuries to the occupants or fire service personnel. Occupants are receiving assistance from the American Red Cross.
