Enumclaw woman injured in 101 crash near Artic

An Enumclaw woman was injured when she fell asleep while driving on Highway 101 about six miles south of Cosmopolis on Saturday morning, according to the State Patrol.

The 26-year-old woman was driving northbound about 5:15 a.m. when she fell asleep and the silver 2013 Ford Explorer she was driving drifted off the shoulder, down the embankment, rolled and came to a rest on the driver’s-side door partially onto Artic Road, according to the State Patrol.

The injured woman was taken to Grays Harbor Community Hospital with undisclosed injuries. She faces a charge of second-degree negligent driving, said the State Patrol report.
