Car crimes at the college

Two vehicles were broken into Thursday and Saturday at Grays Harbor College. Thieves made off with a duffle bag and a stereo and damaged one car’s steering column. Officers urge everyone to avoid bringing valuable items to avoid temptation of theft.

Busted for beer at the bus station

Monday afternoon Aberdeen officers saw a man drinking out of an open can of Icehouse beer at the Grays Harbor Transit Bus Mall. When approached and asked for ID the man said he was dehydrated and forgot his water bottle, so he got a beer. He was cited and released.

A tissue full of pills

On East 5th Street early Monday afternoon an Aberdeen officer spotted a man known to have a criminal history. When the officer realized the man was wanted on a Department of Corrections warrant he approached as the man walked “briskly” southbound on I Street. When the officer activated his lights the man reached in his pocket and threw a balled up napkin on the ground. Police inspected and found 10 white pills identified as acetaminophen and hydrocodone.The man said he got the pills from someone “who lives at the river” and was supposed to “meet up with someone to sell the pills.” He was arrested for illegal possession of prescription drugs.
