Calls to local emergency services

Ten minutes of freedom

A security guard at the Grays Harbor County Courthouse Friday was alerted by a citizen who observed a man inside her vehicle just outside. The officer contacted the Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s office, then observed the man getting out of the citizen’s vehicle, according to a Sheriff’s Office release. He detained the suspect for deputies, who placed the 30-year old under arrest for vehicle prowling. The man had been released from the jail just 10 minutes earlier, and was found to have in his possession what appeared to be methamphetamine and heroin. The suspect admitted he had found the drugs in another vehicle he had already prowled during his 10 minutes of freedom. The suspect’s action were all caught on surveillance cameras. The owner of the drugs has not come forward to report the crime to the Sheriff’s Office.
