Another suspicious Hoquiam fire

Hoquiam fire and police were called to a fire in the 500 block of Emerson Avenue at 5:44 p.m. Thursday. A neighbor noticed a glow coming from within the unused garage and was able to enter and douse the fire. Investigators collected evidence at the scene as the fire appeared suspicious and canvassed the neighborhood Friday looking for leads and information. This is the third fire in the area in the last month. Anyone with information should call Detective Dave Grossi at 532-0892 ext. 295 or Detective Ryan Pearson at ext. 102.

More Hoquiam car prowls reported

Hoquiam officers have responded to several overnight vehicle prowls as of Friday morning. Vehicles were entered at the 2600 block of Sumner Avenue, the 2600 block of Cherry Avenue and the 2700 block of Simpson Avenue. Because of the proximity of the incidents it could be the same suspect or suspects. Citizens are urged not to leave valuables in their vehicles, to lock all their doors and report suspicious persons in the area, especially after dark.
