Congressman Kilmer to hold town hall meeting in Westport

Congressman Derek Kilmer will host a town hall meeting in Westport Monday, Aug. 26, in order to hear from constituents about the issues that matter to them, according to a statement from Kilmer’s office. The meetings will be open to the public.

“I work for the people I represent and it’s important to me that I get opportunities to hear directly from you,” said Kilmer. “I hope folks will be able to join one of my upcoming town halls to share their ideas and concerns.”

The Westport town hall is the first in this latest series of four to be held across the 6th Congressional District and the only one scheduled in Grays Harbor County. It’s at McCausland Hall next to the Westport Maritime Museum, 2201 Westhaven Dr. at 5:30 p.m. The doors open at 5 p.m.

Other stops on Kilmer’s latest town hall trip include Kingston Aug. 29, Gig Harbor Sept. 3, and Forks Sept. 4. Earlier this year, Kilmer hosted a town hall meeting in Montesano on Jan. 25, along with others in Tacoma, Poulsbo, Belfair, Port Angeles and Quilcene.

Kilmer will also host a telephone town hall Monday, Sept. 9. Residents of the 6th Congressional District who would like to join the call can send an email to kilmer.teletownhall@mail.house.gov with their name, address, and phone number by Sunday, Sept. 8. Residents who sign up before the deadline will receive a phone call on Monday, Sept. 9 inviting them to the telephone town hall.
