Car plows into house in Montesano

UPDATE: Montesano police confirmed no injures at the scene and no criminal charges will be filed as no drugs or alcohol were involved.

There was a rude awakening in Montesano on Thursday morning as a small passenger car plowed into the front of a house on West Pioneer Avenue.

Montesano police received a call at 7:25 a.m. that a grey four-door Honda Civic crashed into a home located at 718 W. Pioneer Avenue, near the intersection of West Wynooche Avenue.

According to Montesano police officers, the single-occupant vehicle was travelling westbound on Pioneer when it veered off the road and crashed through the living room of the single-occupant home.

The 25-year-old male driver had a “medical issue” and “blacked out” before the vehicle went off the road, according to Montesano Police Chief Brett Vance.

The homeowner was sleeping in an adjacent room when the crash occurred and was awakened.

The damaged vehicle was removed from the home within an hour.

As of Thursday afternoon, Monte police confirmed that no injuries were prevalent at the scene and it did not appear to responding officers that drugs or alcohol were involved. No criminal charges have been filed.
