Arrest in Oakville after gun fired

An Oakville man was arrested after a weapon was fired during an altercation with another resident. Chief Criminal Deputy Kevin Schrader with the Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to assist Chehalis Tribal Police with a shooting incident that had just occurred on the Chehalis reservation Tuesday morning.

A 36-year-old Oakville man told police that a 39-year-old Oakville man, known to the victim, kicked in their door and fired a round from a firearm outside of the residence before leaving in a vehicle. The victim said the incident started because the suspect thought the victim had stolen items from him.

Sheriff’s deputies, detectives, and Chehalis Tribal Officers investigated.

The suspect was later located by Chehalis Tribal Officers and taken into custody without incident.
