Aberdeen Police seek leads in Oct. 20 assault near North Washington St.

Assault left 52-year-old Aberdeen man with severe head injuries

The Aberdeen Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying an assault suspect and accomplice that seriously injured a 52-year-old Aberdeen man Oct. 20.

Detective Jeff Weiss said officers responded to an assault complaint just before 7:30 p.m. in the west alley of the 200 block of North Washington Street. When officers arrived, they found the victim on the ground with numerous injuries to his head. The victim was taken to Grays Harbor Community Hospital and later airlifted to Tacoma.

The victim was able to describe the suspect as a clean-shaven white male, 5-10, with a muscular build, short brown hair and wearing a white t-shirt and black jeans. The victim said he was distracted by a female standing by a maroon Lincoln midsize car when he observed the male. The victim stated that the female — described as having straight, jet black hair and in her 30s or 40s — came up to the victim and started accusing him of assaulting her. The victim stated that’s when his attention was taken from the male and he was struck in the head and fell to the ground.

“The victim suffered severe head trauma from this incident and the Aberdeen Police Department needs help locating his attacker,” said Weiss. He encourages anyone with any information contact him at 360-533-3180 or email jweiss@aberdeenwa.gov.
