Aberdeen man injured in one-car rollover accident on State Route 8

An allegedly impaired driver was injured in a rollover one-vehicle crash on State Route 8 near Heise Road Saturday evening, according to a State Patrol report.

A 41-year-old Aberdeen man was westbound on State Route 8 about 2 1/2 miles east of Elma at 9 p.m. when his vehicle went over the fog line and left to roadway to the right, according to the report. The minivan struck a Department of Transportation light pole, rolled three or four times and continued westbound until coming to a stop facing eastbound in the westbound ditch.

The driver was taken to Summit Pacific Medical Center with undisclosed injuries. The van was a total loss. The State Patrol report said the driver could face charges for driving under the influence.
