2019 County Fair smashes attendance record

The 2019 edition of the Grays Harbor County Fair smashed attendance records, thanks in large part to a huge crowd on Saturday. That day’s fair attendance of 24,555 set a new single-day attendance record for the event. The parking lots experienced an early rush at around 11:30 a.m. and were beyond packed all day long. The mark eclipsed the former single-day record — set on Saturday of the 2017 fair — of 23,075 — by some 1,480 fair-goers. It smashed the 2018 Saturday attendance of 17, 776 by 6,779.

The attendance for Sunday was 10,868. That was down 2,525 for the day as compared to 2018, but it was plenty good enough to establish a new overall attendance record of 72,011. That beat the previous record of 67,866 — established in 2017 — by more than 4,000. The forecast had been a little questionable coming into the start of the fair, but the weather ended up being ideal for most of the five-day run, except for a very light mist Sunday.
