Timberland employees step up

Many staffers volunteered as Red Kettle bell ringers for the Salvation Army.

Timberland Bank is one of several local businesses and other organizations whose employees have stepped up this season to volunteer as Red Kettle bell ringers for the Salvation Army.

“We approached our staff with one broadcast email asking for volunteers and were excited when we got more than enough people to cover bell-ringing shifts for two days,” said Marketing Director Denise Burke.

In addition, staff members from all 22 Timberland locations raised over $7,000 in cash and collected more than 200 jars of peanut butter for local food organizations during the bank’s annual holiday celebration. Beneficiaries of that event included Coastal Harvest in Grays Harbor County, Emergency Food Network of Tacoma, and the Thurston County Food Bank.
