Saginaw Days a success

The 19th annual Saginaw Days went off without a hitch in Brooklyn on Saturday with almost no rain — despite a gloomy forecast that indicated hours of showers with some lightning.

“It wasn’t bright and sunny, but it was dry, and that’s all that mattered,” laughed event committee member Maryann Welch, adding that the crowd was bigger than she expected.

They also had more participants than usual, with 37 people competing in the various events, according to Welch.
