• A state park encompassing Half Moon Bay and the South Jetty approach will be dedicated Monday in a ceremony featuring Gov. Dan Evans and other dignitaries, the Port of Grays Harbor commissioners announced this morning.

The park comprises 100 acres of land and 4,400 feet of waterfront donated to the state by the Port. Commissioner John Earley termed Half Moon Bay, with its shimmering white sand, “probably the prettiest and least-known beaches along the coast.” He said it is suitable for swimming as it has no undertow, and for water skiing.

• Many exquisite designer costumes, active sports and sunwear, furs and at-home wear will be modeled at the Pat Boone Celebrity Golf Classic fashion show Friday at the Ocean Shores Inn.

Mrs. Pat Boone will be hostess at the noon luncheon. The public is invited to attend.
