Grays Harbor Dance presents ‘Christmas All Over the World’

It’s a multicultural holiday celebration of dance, with the traditional sounds of Christmas as well as some new ethnic beats.

Grays Harbor Dance will present its 10th annual holiday recital this weekend.

The program, titled “It’s Christmas All Over the World,” is a multicultural holiday celebration of dance, with the traditional sounds of Christmas as well as some new ethnic beats.

The show will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the 7th Street Theatre in Hoquiam.

A total of 55 students will be dancing to seasonal music from as far away as Africa, France, Russia and Japan. Performances will include “Feliz Navidad,” “St. Lucia,” “Must Be Santa Polka” and many others.

They have been working toward this recital since August, according to Kayli Colgrove, owner and instructor of Grays Harbor Dance.

“These students have done an amazing job working together as a team to put on this holiday recital,” she said. “Their passion for dance and their dedication shows in their steps when they shine on the stage.”

As always, admission is free with a food bank donation.

“GHD has asked for food bank donations as admission from the very beginning,” said Colgrove. “We gathered just under 600 pounds last year.”

Grays Harbor Dance encourages any dancer — regardless of age, disability or financial situation — to find and embrace their inner dancing beauty.
